Any hay producer in North Carolina is eligible to compete. Participation requires both chemical analysis and visual analysis, see Competition Rules for details. The NC State Fair retains all entries for teaching purposes at North Carolina State University. All competitors are required to submit a NC Substitute W-9 form when they register.

Please note that entries mailed to 4285 Trinity Road will NOT be delivered to the fairgrounds. This is NOT a deliverable USPS address.

Forage sample and $10 fee should be submitted for chemical analysis by September 15, 2023. Forms are available from your county extension office or regional agronomist. Mark "STATE FAIR SAMPLE" at the top of your form.

Exhibitors who choose NOT to disclose their full Social Security Number at the time of registration (paper entry forms or online), even if they have submitted an entry in the past, forfeit any and all premium monies they may be entitled to.
