Civil Aviation Flyover

Civil Aviation Flyover

Wherever you are in the Triangle on Saturday (5/2) around midday, look up!

Local pilots are planning a hospital flyover event on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The planes will fly over hospitals in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and Louisburg.
This event is planned to show appreciation to healthcare workers and other front line responders.
This isn’t a formation flight, but, rather, a parade of planes, each flying over the hospital, and saying thank you. The pilots are working closely with air traffic control.

The planes will be staggered one mile apart, flying at 2500 feet above ground. There could be around 25 pilots, all flying their general aviation airplanes.

Once all the planes are in place, the flight pattern will be in a heart! So, look up and take a picture!

Here is the flyover schedule:
11:40 a.m.: Mariah Parham Franklin, Louisburg
12 p.m.: Duke Hospital and VA Hospital, Durham
12:05 p.m.: UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill
12:14 p.m.: Rex Hospital, Raleigh
12:22 p.m.: Wake Med, Cary
12:32 p.m.: Wake Med, Raleigh
