Carolina 2009 MCA National Mustang Show

July 4th Celebration
Presented by The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the NC State Fair.
Free Admission! Free Parking! Activities at No Charge!

In the event of inclement weather, all indoor activities will remain as scheduled and all outdoor activities will be cancelled. The fireworks display will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 5 at 9:00 p.m.

This year’s activities are provided by Raleigh Parks and Recreation beginning at 5:00 pm and ending at 8:30 pm. Activities include sports, Independence Day Hat-Making activity, arts, dance instruction, Nature Program, Adventure Program, Taiko Japanese drumming performance, Holiday Express expo, Raleigh Police & Fire displays, Dorton Arena’s giant obstacle course, Design a Park activity, Wii games, contests, scavenger hunt and bingo.

The “Got to be NC Watermelon Cutting” provided by NC Watermelon Association will begin at 5 pm at the July 4th Celebration and continue while supplies last.

The grand scale fireworks show will start at 9:15 pm. Food vendors will be on-site.

All activities are held rain or shine on July 4th from 5:00 pm-8:30 pm. In the event of inclement weather on July 4th, only the fireworks will be held on July 5th at 9:15 pm.

Accessible parking and general public parking is available in Gate 4 & Gates 9. Free parking in Fairgrounds lots near Gate 9 Trinity Road and Gate 4 Youth Center Road. Handicap parking access through Gate 9 on Trinity Road.

Pets are not allowed inside the event area. No alcohol and no coolers allowed.

Event sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. Special thanks to City of Raleigh Police Department, North Carolina State Fairgrounds, NC Highway Patrol, NC Department of Transportation, NC State Fairgrounds Security Office and Event Staff.
Other activities at the NC State Fairgrounds include The Raleigh Flea Market, Sat & Sun 9am-6pm, The Raleigh Jaycees Turkey Shoot from 5pm-8pm, activity fee is charged, The 2009 National Mustang Car Show will be held Fri & Sat from 8am-5pm, and Sun from 8am-4pm in the Kerr Scott Building. State 4-H Horse Show
Free admission to spectators.
Activities begin at 3 pm - 10 pm on Wednesday; 8 am - 10 pm on Thursday, 7 am - 11 pm on Friday; 9 am - 10 pm on Saturday, and 8 am - 6:00 pm on Sunday. This 5-day State Championship Horse Show will feature the top 4-H exhibitors from seven extension district qualifying shows with over 120 classes highlighting 4-H members exhibiting their horse projects.. Shows in hunt seat, western, saddle seat, non-trotting, games and dressage classes.
