The Flea Market is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Each weekend, the Commercial and Education buildings and the outside grounds are host to hundreds of dealers, craftsmen, and booths. Commercial & Education Bldgs. & outside grounds  919-829-3533

July 4th Celebration
Presented by The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the NC State Fair.
Free Admission! Activities at No Charge!
Gates open at 2:30 Activities begin at 3:00pm
Fun-filled family event includes FREE interactive games, inflatable rides, live roving entertainment, two stages featuring music and live entertainment, fireworks and more!!. Food vendors will also be available. Main Stage will be located in the new midway area - best access from Gate 9. Special musical performance by bluegrass band Sweet Potato Pie and the Midway Main Stage will feature country music singer Holland Marie performing at 7:30 pm. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for main stage concert. Seating is not provided. No coolers. No pets. Free Parking in Fairgrounds lots near Gate 9 Trinity Road. Handicap parking access through Gate 2 from Hillsborough Street.
FIREWORKS are at 9:15 p.m. 
In the event of inclement weather, all indoor activities will remain as scheduled and all outdoor activities will be cancelled. The fireworks display will be rescheduled for Saturday, July 5 at 9:00 p.m.

Gem & Jewelry Show
Dealers will offer a variety of gems, jewelry, crystals, minerals and beads for show and sale. Rare minerals, giant sharks teeth, and fossils will be on display. Hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission.

State 4-H Horse Show
Free admission to spectators.
Activities begin at 5pm - 10pm on Wednesday and 8 am - 10 pm Thursday - Saturday, 8:30 am - 6:00 pm on Sunday. This 5-day horse show will feature the top 4-H exhibitors from seven extension district qualifying shows with over 2800 entries in 113 classes and more than 3-4,000 spectators. Shows in hunt seat, western, saddle seat, non-trotting, games and dressage classes.

11-13 Equine Extravaganza North Carolina
This east coast equestrian expo, like the Virginia Equine Extravaganza, will feature three full days of clinics, demonstrations, seminars, shopping and equestrian fun.

Hours are Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General Admission $14/day and $8 for children ages 5 - 11. Discount advance tickets available on our website. Ticket price includes admission to the expo, all clinics, seminars & demonstrations, as well as shopping. Equus Extraordinaire evening show is NOT included in admission price. An Evening Equine Musical Revue will be presented on Friday and Saturday 8 - 10 pm - Admission is $10 general admission or $35 for premium seats. All clinic and demo sessions are "open admission" and registration is NOT required. Tickets for the expo will be available online two months prior to the event.

Team Championships International Hoop It Up and Radio One presents the ultimate 3 on 3 hoop it up basketball event. Free spectator admission.

2008 SPECIAL OLYMPICS NORTH CAROLINA MidSummer Tournament Opening Ceremony and Dance
Opening ceremonies will be in Dorton Arena from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. with dance immediately following in the Exposition Center. Opening Ceremonies will kick off state level competition for over 800 athletes in bowling, equestrian and floor hockey. Spectator admission is free for Opening Ceremonies; the dance is closed to the public.

18-20 Special Olympics
Over 125 athletes from 20 local programs (counties) across NC will compete for equestrian championship in dressage, showmanship and English and Western trails and equitation. Free spectator admission. Show times Saturday 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday 9am - 5 pm .

Hunter Jumper Horse Show -Friday through Sunday. Daily show begins at 8:00 am. These shows are hunter horse shows with most of the competitors being from North Carolina. NCHJA "C" Rated. Free Admission
