2 Young Champions Karate & Cheer State Competitions
The cheer competition for ages 4-14 will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Karate competition begins at 3:00 pm. Spectator Admission is free. Classes are offered year-round to promote physical fitness, good sportsmanship, confidence and competitive spirit and competitions are held each session.

Mid Atlantic Hound Association Dog Show
Judging for the Mid-Atlantic Hound Association Hound Group Dog Show begins at 9:00 am daily. AKC registered dogs in the breeds included in the Hound Group are eligible for entry. Entries close on Wed. April 15 at the Superintendent's office. Non-entered dogs are not permitted in the building. Admission for spectators is FREE. Baby carriages and strollers are not permitted in the building.

The dog show is open to AKC-registered hound breeds and is comprised of the following breeds: Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Basset Hounds, Beagles (not exceeding 13 inches), Beagles (13 to 15 inches), Black & Tan Coonhounds, Bloodhounds, Borzois, Dachshunds (Longhaired), Dachshunds (Smooth), Dachshunds (Wirehaired), Harriers, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Norwegian Elkhounds, Otter Hounds, Foxhounds (American), Foxhounds (English), Greyhounds, Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, and Whippets. GOT TO BE NC FEST 

Celebrate North Carolina as we "Spring into Summer" during the second annual Got to be NC Festival, May 29-31. Come enjoy a mix of food, music, carnival rides and games, antique farm equipment and grandstand entertainment. And best of all, admission is free for all ages! The only paid events are the grandstand shows each day and the Carolina Pig Jig barbecue contest on Saturday. Come sample and buy food and wine from dozens of North Carolina companies in the Food Expo, and treat your kids to the petting zoo, pony rides and racing pigs. Check out the fabulous grandstand shows with Draft Horse Pulls and Rocky the trick mule on Friday; Antique Tractor Pulls on Saturday; and new to the State Fairgrounds Lawnmower Racing on Sunday. Admission to each grandstand show is only $5. On Saturday come enjoy the Carolina Pig Jig, where Masons from across North Carolina will gather and cook whole pigs, shoulders and even chicken in a quest for top trophies and prizes.
