The Flea Market is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Each weekend, the Commercial and Education buildings, the Shoppes at Dorton and the outside grounds are host to hundreds of dealers, craftsmen, and booths.

Southern Ideal Home Show - Spring Edition
The show features hundreds of building, remodeling, kitchen and bath, landscaping, outdoor living and interior design companies. This three-day event provides homeowners with opportunities to shop, compare, and seek advice from professionals and see the latest in home improvement trends. The show is a convenient, one-stop shopping, and has set the standard as the “must-see” home and garden event of the year.

5-7 Precious Gem & Mineral Show
CELEBRATING THEIR 43rd YEAR at the State Fairgrounds, this show is sponsored by the Tar Heel Gem & Mineral Club and includes 29 dealers. The Club Demonstration area includes club members faceting, cabbing, chainmaking, wirewraping, bead stringing and gem tree creating. Club members will also provide lectures about minerals and demonstrationf of gem polishing, geoge cutting plus associated hobbies. The Hospitality area sells grab bags with mineral specimens. Some could contain a faceted gem. Tickets for the geode raffle, door prizes and rock candy are in this area. Buy a rock at the Geode booth and be the first to see what is inside. The on-going Silent Auction has new items every hour. Dealers provide minerals, fossils, finished jewelry, gemstones, findings and beads for sale.

3 day 43rd Annual NCAHA/ODAHA Dual Region Qualifing All-Arabian Horse Show. Arabian-Half Arabian competition includes various indoor and outdoor events performance, halter, sport horse, dressage, hunter jumper and carriage driving. Free admission. Begins Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. each day until 10 p.m.

American Saddle Bred and Morgan horse show - a qualifier for the World Championship Horse Show. Free spectator admission to show competition.
