2010 FIRST NC Robotics Regional Tournament - a high school robotics tournament featuring competition between 44 teams from across the country and Brazil. Spectators are welcome from 9 am - 5 pm on April 2 and 3 - no spectator admission fee. NC Secretary of Commerce, Keith Crisco, will be the opening speaker on April 2; sponsored by NASA, Cisco and Credit Suisse. Additional event information available at:

3 38th Annual Raleigh Hamfest
All in one building, huge electronic flea market for new & used amateur radio equipment, electronic accessories, computer hardware and software. Youth activities. Table and dealer booths available. Amateur Radio License Examinations start at 9 a.m. Show hours are  8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $7 pre-registration to March 27 or $8 at the door.

Nearly 75 exhibitors will be selling sportscards and collectibles on approximately 160 tables at the show.  
Hours are Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Admission is $5 for adults. Children ages 15 and under are admitted free.

Easter worship service and message from Senior Pastor Rodney Finch. Service begins at 10 am and is the general public is invited to attend. No admission charge.

9-11 Southern Ideal Home Show - Spring Edition
The "Big One".....hundreds of experts...thousands of ideas. This three day event provides eager homeowners the opportunity to see, compare and buy the latest products and services, attend informative garden seminars, shop the Habitat ReStore Yard Sale, IDS Attic Sale, or meet celebrity guests. Hours are Friday, noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults (age 15 and over) and free for children 14 and under. Visit Chick-Filet or click on our weblink for a $1 discount coupon. Senior Day on Friday only, seniors ages 55 and older receive admission for $8 (no coupons). Special admission after 5pm on Saturday and Sunday is $5 (no coupons).

9-11 Precious Gem & Mineral Show
This show is sponsored by the Tar Heel Gem & Mineral Club and includes 29 dealers. The Club Demonstration area includes club members faceting, cabbing, chainmaking, wirewraping, bead stringing and gem tree creating. The Hospitality area sells grab bags with mineral specimens. Some could contain a faceted gem. Tickets for the geode raffle, door prizes and rock candy are in this area. Buy a rock at the Geode booth and be the first to see what is inside. The on-going Silent Auction has new items every hour. Dealers provide minerals, fossils, finished jewelry, gemstones, findings and beads for sale.

3 day 35th Annual NCAHA All-Arabian Horse Show. Free admission. Begins Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m.

10 The Pipe and Cigar Expo
Pipe and tobacco/ana expo includes distributors, collectors and pipe clubs. Pipes, cigars, humidors and smokers accessories will be available as well as custom blended tobaccos from around the world, pipe makers and pipe trading. Hourly raffles and door prizes.  Event Hours: 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Admission: $2, free admission for one with ad from News & Observer or NC State Technician.

16-18 Azalea Sale
The Gardeners of Wake County club will be selling azaleas to raise money for horticultural scholarships at N.C. State and other projects.   Annual and perennials will also be offered by 4-H Youth. Hours are Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

Raleigh Invitational Horse Show
American Saddle Bred and Morgan horse show - This is an AMHA two star rating show featuring the Equine Roadster Cup and the Equine Pony Cup and is a qualifier for the World Championship Horse Show. Free spectator admission. Session times: Friday morning (April 16) 10:00am Friday evening 6pm

Turkish Festival
Turkish Festival featuring world famous Turkish coffee, tea and food (donar kabob, sish kabob, Turkish pide, manti, gozleme, baklava and more) , Turkish folk dances, singers and dancers. Carolina Roller Derby
Carolina Rollergirls brings back the fierce competition of flat-track roller derby in their 2010 series with a Double-header event featuring their first ever International bout:

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Game 1 Carolina Bootleggers versus Dominon B-Team begins at 6 pm - Game 2 Carolina All-Stars versus Montreal Roller Derby begins at 7:30 pm. In celebration of area youth organization endeavors and the Boy Scouts of America 100th Anniversary the NCDA & CS presents the 2010 NC Youth Jamboree with exhibits for Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Venturing, Exploring, Girl Scouts, 4-H Clubs, YMCA, Fellowship Christian Athletes, and Boys and Girls Clubs. Gates open and activities begin at 9 am with the arena show and grand finale at 3 pm.
