3-5 Southern Ideal Home Show - Spring Edition
The Triangle's biggest and best home and garden event features three buildings filled with hundreds of exhibitors to answer questions, help with your next building or remodeling project, decorating or landscaping your home. Enjoy shopping, comparing prices, talking to experts and finding resources for all your home and garden project. Hours are Friday, noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults (age 15 and over) and free for children 15 and under. Senior Day on Friday only, seniors ages 55 and older receive admission for $7 (no coupons).

3-5 Precious Gem & Mineral Show
This show is sponsored by the Tar Heel Gem & Mineral Club and includes 29 dealers plus Club areas of demonstration, silent auction, goedes and hospitality. Finished jewelry, rough minerals, fossils, geodes, related books and tools on display and for sale. Familiarize your children with the Lapidary Arts. FREE admission. Grab bags with rocks and minerals, some containing a faceted gem, available for kids. The club will sell and cut geodes and offer an on-going Silent Auction with new items every hour. One large area is set up to demonstrate faceting, cabachons, Opals, chainmaking, wirewrap, and gem trees.

Carolina Rollergirls brings back the fierce competition of flat-track roller derby in their 2009 series.
