The Flea Market is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Each weekend, the Commercial and Education buildings, the Shoppes at Dorton and the outside grounds are host to hundreds of dealers, craftsmen, and booths.

Dixie Deer Classic
Deer Hunters Convention. This is the 34th annual event designed to offer the latest in hunting equipment from more than 200 vendors. Seminars, displays, trophy scoring, and archery competition. Special Guests include Lee & Tiffany - Stars of the Crush Television Show, C.J. Winand - writer and wildlife biologist, Joe Teti - Star of Discovery's Dual Survival TV Show, and Team Primos - Kevin Meacham, Keith Burgess, Chris Ashley & Cody Kelley. Hours are Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for age 13 and older (get your hand stamped for return admission good all 3 days), children 12 and under are admitted free. SPECIAL ADMISSION ticket for Friday Only: All Youth age 13 to 18, Seniors 65 and over, Military, and Women can purchase their admission ticket for $5. Youth Seminars will be held at the Holshouser Building, North Carolina BowHunters Association banquet will be Saturday evening and the NC State Championship Turkey Calling Contest will be held in the Dixie Deer Classic on Saturday.

Double L Bar Cowboy Mounted Shooters
(CMSA) Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association sanctioned event featuring riders dressed in period and contemporary western costumes.
Riders ON HORSEBACK shoot balloons from their galloping horses in the main arena with six guns, rifles and shotguns using safety blanks. Combines shooting Skill with horsemanship against the clock. Don't miss this thriller! Safety Meeting 15 minutes prior to event followed by Stages 1 - 4. Rifle match following the 3rd stage
Winter Heat Roundup two four stage DOUBLE POINT shoots. Saturday 11AM, Sunday 10AM, March 1-2, 2014. TWO Stage Rifle and Shotgun matches. admission $5 for adults, children under 10 free.

Rain or Shine, celebrating its 27th year this event will include a swap meet with more than 125 vendors, car corral for buying and selling and Car/Truck shows: Sat - 1900-1973 vehicles; Sun -Open Car Show, All Makes, Models, Years, Imports & Motorcyles. The 66th Raleigh Antiques Extravaganza - over 125 exhibitors, from Florida to New England, featuring quality antiques and old collectibles. 8-9 Bead Mercantile Show
Visit our event for a great selection of beads and bead related items from vendors from across the country and world selling everything from hand-made artisan glass beads to direct imports such as beads (seed, pewter, semi-precious gemstones), findings, trheads/cord and everything else you need to make beaded jewelry. Workshops also available. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday.
General Admission of $6 is discounted to $3 with registration at door or online - children under 16 admitted free but must be accompanied by an adult.

8-9 Carolina Coin and Stamp Show 
Coins, postcards and stamps (U.S., foreign, ancient, gold & silver) will be available. Dealers will be buying and selling foreign, domestic and ancient currency. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

2014 FIRST Regional Tournament
- a high school varsity robotics competition featuring 54 teams from across the US. Seeding matches are March 14 and 15 with elimination matches and finals beginning at 1 pm on March 15. 18 Persian New Year Celebration
Persian New Year starts on the 1st day of the Spring. Traditionally Persians celebrate the last Tuesday night of the year which is called Chaharshanbe-Souri or the Wednesday Feast. It is a prelude to Norooz, which marks the arrival of spring. The event is sponsored by the Iranian Cultural Society of North Carolina. Free admission. Event hours 6 - 10 p.m.

Raleigh Spring Premier Benefit
Show features classes for American Saddlebred horses, Roadster horses and ponies, Hackney ponies, Southeast riders and a full Morgan Division. Plus a full division for beginning riders who participate in the academy starting at 1 pm Saturday afternoon. Exhibitor party Friday night and morning hospitality each day of show. 19-23 Kennel Club Dog Show
Championship Purebred AKC event - registered dogs will compete each day in championship dog shows, obedience and rally trials.  A different Kennel Club hosts competitions each day. The schedule is:
Wednesday - Cary Kennel Club;
Thursday - Alamance Kennel Club;
Friday - Durham Kennel Club;
Saturday - Raleigh Kennel Club;
and Sunday - Fayetteville Kennel Club.  Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Admission on Saturday, Mar. 22 and Sunday Mar.23 is $5 for adults, $2 for kids 7-12 and Senior Citizens, Children under 7 admitted free.

22-23 India Fest - A Cultural Arts Showcase
Discover Indian cultural arts through dance, music, cultural cuisine, and traditional crafts in a Bazaar-style atmosphere in the magnificent Dorton Arena. Bring your family and friends! 28-29 NC Diocese Ignited by Truth Conference
Get Ignited! Dynamic Catholic speakers will help ignite a fire for the Catholic Faith, offering a weekend of spiritual insight and inspiration for people of all faith traditions. Subjects range from Sacred Scripture to Spiritual Combat. The Friday evening workshop is devoted to those considering the Catholic Church. The event begins with Live Praise and Worship Music and will feature two speakers, who will be part of Saturday’s program. Sessions in Spanish will also be offered. Saturday is a full day of presentations, including sessions for students age ten and up, and ending with a Vigil Mass celebration. Other offerings include Confession, Eucharistic Adoration, and a Vendor and Ministry Fair. Conference hours: Friday: 6:00-10pm; Saturday: 8am-7pm. Friday:Free Admission, Saturday: at the door $45/adult, $25/student age 10+ including lunch. 28-30 Precious Gem & Mineral Show
This show is sponsored by the Tar Heel Gem & Mineral Club and includes 29 dealers. The Club Demonstration area includes club members faceting, cabbing, chainmaking, wirewraping, bead stringing and gem tree creating. Club members will also provide lectures about minerals. The Hospitality area sells grab bags with mineral specimens. Some could contain a faceted gem. Tickets for the geode raffle, door prizes and rock candy are in this area. Buy a rock at the Geode booth and be the first to see what is inside. The on-going Silent Auction has new items every hour. Dealers provide minerals, fossils, finished jewelry, gemstones, findings and beads for sale.

Mid Atlantic Persian & Himalayan Fanciers CFA Cat Show
TICA cat show: Saturday 9 am - 5 pm See up to 250 pedigree and household pets compete for awards at this CFA sanctioned cat show. Special event: See cat and kittens run an agility competition. Try your hand at this new sport by running available demonstration cats. Then stay for Sunday and see a different set of cats at the TICA Show being held at the same location. Both shows will have beautiful cats as well as vendors with items for you, your cats, and your cat loving friends. TICA cat show: Sunday 9am - 5 pm Seeup to 125 beautiful cats in competition at this TICA sanctioned cat show. Special feline agility compettiion! See cats run an obstacle course for the fastest feline. Try your hand at this sport with available demonstration cats. Come on Saturday as well as see a different set of cats in competition at the CFA Show being held in the same location.
