Dixie Deer Classic
Deer Hunters Convention. This is the 33rd annual event designed to offer the latest in hunting equipment from more than 200 vendors. Seminars, displays, trophy scoring, and archery competition. Special Guests to be announced. Hours are Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults (get your hand stamped for return admission good all 3 days), children 12 and under are admitted free. SPECIAL ADMISSION ticket for Friday Only: All Youth age 13 to 18, Seniors 65 and over, Military, and Women can purchase their admission ticket for $5. The NC Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation banquet will be Friday evening and the NC State Championship Turkey Calling Contest will be held in the Dixie Deer Classic on Saturday. The NC BowHunters Association Banquet will be Saturday evening.

Visit our event for a great selection of beads and bead related items from vendors from across the country and world selling everything from hand-made artisan glass beads to direct imports such as beads (seed, pewter, semi-precious gemstones), findings, trheads/cord and everything else you need to make beaded jewelry. - a high school varsity robotics competition featuring 54 teams from across the US. Seeding matches are March 15 and 16 with elimination matches and finals beginning at 1 pm on March 16. Persian New Year starts on the 1st day of the Spring. Traditionally Persians celebrate the last Tuesday night of the year which is called Chaharshanbe-Souri or the Wednesday Feast. It is a prelude to Norooz, which marks the arrival of spring. The event is sponsored by the Iranian Cultural Society of North Carolina. Free admission. Event hours 6 - 10 p.m.

Championship Purebred AKC event - registered dogs will compete each day in championship dog shows, obedience and rally trials.  A different Kennel Club hosts competitions each day. The schedule is:
Wednesday - Cary Kennel Club;
Thursday - Alamance Kennel Club;
Friday - Durham Kennel Club;
Saturday - Raleigh Kennel Club;
