4-5 Dixie Deer Classic"Take A Walk on the Wild Side" Youth Seminars
Dixie Deer Classic sponsored by Wake County Wildlife Association is offering an environmental education program that blends science with civics while meeting national education standards at a classroom style workshop titled "Oh Deer!" 9 am and 1 pm on Thursday and Friday. . Friday - March 5 is also Youth Day at the Dixie Deer Classic and includes a self-directed wildlife scavenger hunt available to students all day (9am - 9pm) Friday.

5-7 Dixie Deer Classic
Deer Hunters Convention. This is the 30th annual event designed to offer the latest in hunting equipment from more than 200 vendors. Seminars, displays, trophy scoring, and archery competition. Special Guests include Michael Waddell from The Bone Collector and Lee and Tiffany Lakosky from Scentek's 'The Crush'. Hours are Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults (get your hand stamped for return admission good all 3 days), children 12 and under are admitted free. The NC Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation banquet will be Friday evening and the NC State Championship Turkey Calling Contest will be held in the Dixie Deer Classic on Saturday. Youth Seminars "Take A Walk On The Wild Side" on Friday at Scott Building starting at 9 am and 1 pm. Friday is Youth Day - Special Admission Friday only Age 13-18 $5.00
