Taste of the State Fair - September 22

 

For the first time ever, North Carolinians can experience a mouth-watering taste of their favorite fair foods at our ‘Taste of the State Fair’ events on Saturday, September 22! Visit any of four locations to sample fair favorites for free with any advance purchase of N.C. State Fair tickets. Food truck vendors will be serving tasty crowd favorites such as deep fried Oreos, chicken & waffle tacos and Krispy Kreme burgers*. Attendees will also be able to purchase food separately. The events will be held the following locations:

 

Raleigh: Midtown Farmers' Market at North Hills

 New EXPANDED FREE Parking and Free Shuttle at Reedy Creek Rd.

The N.C. State Fair has a NEW, EXPANDED parking lot at the corner of Edwards Mill and Reedy Creek! With quick access to I-40 via Wade Avenue, this is the easiest lot to access as you make your way to the Fair!


We will also provide FREE shuttles! You'll be dropped off just across from Gate 8 on Trinity Road, and pick up will occur at the same location. Shuttles will run continuously, and wait time should be no more than 15 minutes. Amenities on site will include a covered waiting area, portable restroom facilities and drink machines.

Dizzy Passes are only available online in advance of the Fair. This package must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.

 

Each wristband will be valid for one day only during the 2018 N.C. State Fair. Advance sale wristband vouchers will be redeemed at the N.C. State Fair Ride Redemption Tents.

 

Rider must be present at redemption for wristband to be applied.

Unlimited Ride Wristbands do NOT include admission to the N.C. State Fair and are not valid at the State Fair Flyer.

 

Ride Redemption Tents are located near Gate 8, near Dorton Arena and in Kiddieland. Look for the neon green tents with stars on top. Tents will be open on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 3 p.m.-10 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 12 - Sunday, Oct. 21 from 8 a.m.-10 p.m.

Bring the voucher to the official State Fair store, "The Nest," to pick up your Casey. Located in the lobby of the Expo Center, "The Nest" is open Thursday, Oct. 11 from 4 - 9:45 p.m. and Friday, October 12-Sunday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. - 9:45 p.m.

Kegs and Corks Passes are only available online in advance of the Fair. This package must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.

 

This offer is limited to one admission to the Our State Public House per person, per day. Redemption must be made by a person 21+.

 

FastTrack Gate Admission skips the ticketing line at all N.C. State Fair gates. FastTrack Gate Admission does not apply to carnival rides or the State Fair Flyer.

Tools For Schools Program - $$ For Your School

 

Online Advance Sale Only: August 1-October 11

 

We are excited to expand our Tools for Schools program in 2018~ Support Wake, Edgecombe or Johnston County Public Schools by purchasing tickets in advance of the N.C. State Fair with your school code.

 

For every adult ticket purchased using a school code, the State Fair will donate $2 to the school. For every child ticket purchased using a school code, the State Fair will donate $1 to the school.

 

To support your school, simply enter your school code under "Membership" at check-out on the Tools for Schools link. This promotion is only available online in advance of the Fair. Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11.

The Canine Stars

The Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show is an exciting extreme sports production for family entertainment – highlighting popular dog sports such as dock diving, freestyle frisbee disc, flyball racing, high jumping, and dog agility with multiple breeds of dogs and mixes who have been rescued or adopted from shelters.

Fire Safety Show

Fire Departments from across North Carolina come together at the N.C. State Fair with their clowns, puppet friends and fire prevention houses to educate kids and families about working smoke alarms and why you should have a fire escape plan. Magic tricks will encourage kids to stop, drop and roll and family skits will show the importance of replacing batteries in smoke alarms to keep them going strong!


Kachunga & the Alligator Show

Near Gate 1

 

From deep in the swamps of Florida comes Kachunga, a real American Bushman who dares to step foot into the murky domain of the American alligator. Gather around to witness a dangerous dance of reflexes and agility as he wrestles a ferocious man-eating reptile with his bare hands.

 


Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show

N.C. Forest Service Area

 

Head up to the N.C. Forest Service area, located behind Heritage Circle, and you'll find real-life lumberjacks showcasing their skills in axe throwing, crosscut sawing, chainsaw carving, chainsaw safety and log rolling. These lumberjacks aren't just here for laughs, learn about issues impacting our forests, what the future holds and why we need our forests.
