Commercially produced entries are not allowed.


Exhibits will be accepted in the Education Building on the fairgrounds, October 5-9, 2017. For hours, consult the Competition Rules. Fairgrounds Map


Online Entry Deadline: September 15, 2017 at 11:59 p.m.

Paper Entry Deadline: Must be postmarked by 5 p.m. or hand delivered by 4 p.m. on September 15, 2017.


All products must be processed according to safe methods recognized in the current edition of one of the following publications: the Ball Blue Book or the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning.


RECIPE REQUIREMENT: In order to educate exhibitors about safe canning methods, all entries must be accompanied by a recipe which includes: the ingredients, amounts, processing method and processing time based on elevation. Recipes should also indicate the source of the processing method, eg. USDA Guide to Home Canning, Ball Blue Book, or So Easy to Preserve (Cooperative Extension: The University of Georgia).


Labels are ONLY required for dried fruits & vegetables. Label contents and give the method used for drying - this is your recipe. Entries will be disqualified if recipes used are not taken from one of the safe method sources listed above.


Write the recipe for each entry on a separate index card and place in a plastic bag. Bring your recipe along with your entry to the fairgrounds during the take-in period listed above.

Lot number category descriptions appearing online are abbreviated due to space limitations. Refer to the online premium book for a complete description of all lot number categories in each department before registering online.


Exhibitors who choose not to disclose their full Social Security Number at the time of registration (paper entry forms or online), even if they have submitted an entry in the past, forfeit any and all premium monies they may be entitled to.
