Youth Celebration Day

The State Fair can be a busy place on the weekends, so youth and school groups are encouraged to attend the fair on Monday, October 17. Special admission packages are available for groups of 40 or more, if purchased before Oct. 13.

Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011
9-11 a.m., Dorton Arena
While seniors ages 65 and over get in free every day of the Fair, on Tuesday, Oct. 18, they can also enjoy a free breakfast and entertainment at the Senior Citizen Fun Festival. The event will take place in Dorton Arena from 9 to 11 a.m. Beach music will entertain attendees.
Parking and handicap parking will be available in Carter Finley Stadium (Gate A). Trans will be available to move fairgoers from the parking lot to Dorton Arena. Look for specially designated trams with Senior Day banners.

Military Appreciation Day sponsored by Subway

The 2011 N.C. State Fair will pay tribute to members of the U.S. Military for their service to the country on Wednesday, October 19. The day will feature special activities and military band performances.
NEW Daily Military Admission Policy:
Military adults (age 13-64): $5 at the gate
(not available in advance or online, just show a military or veteran ID at the gate)
All military personnel, including active duty, reserve, National Guard, retired and veterans are invited to take advantage of a discounted admission price every day of the Fair. This is a savings of $3 off the gate admission price, and $1 off the advance sale price!

Fairgoers can bring four cans of food to the N.C. State Fair on
Thursday, Oct. 20, to exchange for one free admission ticket.
Hunger Relief Day at the Fair is one of the largest one-day canned-food drives in the state, held each year to benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. In the 16-year history of the event, more than 2 million pounds of food have been donated by fairgoers.
