Anoop Desai to perform at 2009 N.C. State Fair;
advance ticket sales begin online Aug. 3

RALEIGH — Chapel Hill’s own Anoop Desai, who was a finalist on Season 8 of American Idol, will fill the last open date of the N.C. State Fair concert schedule, performing Thursday, Oct.22, at 7:30 p.m.

Concert, admission and ride tickets go on sale online Monday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m.
“We are very happy to have Anoop Desai join our concert lineup, which features several North Carolina natives,” said State Fair Manager Wesley Wyatt.

Tickets for Anoop Desai are $5 each. All concert ticket prices range from $5 to $15 and can be purchased online only at www.ncstatefair.org. Any concert tickets remaining after the start of the Fair can be purchased at the Dorton Arena Box Office. Remaining tickets will likely be limited, so purchasing online and in advance is recommended.

In addition to concert tickets, fairgoers can purchase advance admission, grandstand and ride tickets online. Buying in advance will save $2 per adult admission ticket and $8 per ride sheet. Advance admission tickets will cost $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-12. Adult admission tickets for groups of 40 or more will cost $4.75. An 18-ticket ride sheet will cost $10 in advance.

N.C. State Fair advance tickets will be available at area retail locations beginning Oct. 1. Go to www.ncstatefair.org for more information. The 2009 N.C. State Fair will be held Oct. 15-25 at the fairgrounds.
