October Hours
- Fairgrounds gates - 8 a.m. to midnight (weather permitting); must have advance ticket to get in the gate between 10 p.m. and closing. (Except Oct. 15, when gates open at 3 p.m. )
- Ticket booths - Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Exhibit Halls - 9 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. (Except Thursday, Oct. 15, exhibit halls open 4 to 9:45 p.m.)
- Midway rides - 10 a.m. to closing (weather permitting). (Except Thursday, Oct. 15, when midway rides open at 4 p.m.)

How can I get a job at the State Fair?
The Employment Security Commission handles all short-term employment contracts. The job number for persons interested in working the State Fair is NC7267092. Please refer to this number when inquiring about available jobs. A person may go to any Employment Security Office in the state and make application. The phone number for the local office is (919) 212-3849. Salary is dependent upon the job and the employer. The State Fair is not involved in salary discussions between employees and employers. All full-time positions are posted on the Office of State Personnel Web site when available.
