N.C. State Fair announces ‘mystery artist’
Rodney Atkins to perform at the Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 22

RALEIGH — The N.C. State Fair created quite a stir among fans of its nightly entertainment series when it announced the lineup in July with two blank dates. The first spot was announced quickly, but the second vacancy has had fans waiting on the edge of their seats to see if their favorite artist would be traveling through Raleigh in October.

The wait is over. State Fair officials announced today that country-music singer Rodney Atkins will bring his Southern charm and vocals to Dorton Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Tickets are $11.50 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at www.ncstatefair.org.

Atkins’ hits include "Watching You," "These are My People," "Honesty (Write Me A List)" and "If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)."

Atkins rounds out the Fair entertainment lineup, which offers a mix of country, R&B, Christian rock and a television chef on the stage in Dorton Arena.

Ticket prices range from $5 to $31.50 and can be purchased online only at www.ncstatefair.org through the start of the Fair. Any concert tickets remaining after the start of the Fair can be purchased at the Dorton Arena Box Office. Remaining tickets will likely be limited, so purchasing online and in advance is recommended.
