Farm Animal Frenzy winners announcedRALEIGH – It was a barnyard scramble, but “Murial, the Dairy Queen,” “Javier at the Fair,” and “Ms. Moo” came out the winners in the 2008 N.C. State Fair Farm Animal Frenzy.
Murial, a cow decorated by Apex High School, took home first place and the $1,000 grand prize. Javier, a chicken decorated by Fuquay-Varina High School, won second place and $750 cash. Ms. Moo, a cow decorated by Jesse O. Sanderson High School in Raleigh, won third place and $500.
Javier at the Fair | Download High Res Photo Judges also selected “Corny Carney Carl” by Wakefield High School, “Playin’ Hooky” by Garner Magnet School and an unnamed horse by the N.C. School of Math and Science as honorables.
Ms. Moo | Download High Res Photo Fairgoers can still go online at www.ncstatefair.org and vote for their favorite animals or schools. The school with the most votes will win the People’s Choice Award receive a gift certificate from Jerry’s Artarama. The competition was open to high school art programs in Wake and Durham counties.
