Free shuttles running Thursday to State Fair, N.C. State football game

RALEIGH – People attending the State Fair or the N.C. State football game on Thursday night can avoid traffic congestion by taking advantage of a free park-and-ride option.

McLaurin Parking Co. will operate shuttle buses from a 20-acre field at the southwest corner of Reedy Creek and Edwards Mill roads between 2 p.m. and midnight. There is no fee for the parking or the bus ride from this lot.

The shuttles will drop riders off near the intersection of Trinity and Youth Center roads. The site is convenient to both Gate 8 of the State Fairgrounds and Gate B of Carter-Finley Stadium.

The State Fair opens Thursday at 3 p.m. N.C. State plays host to the Florida State Seminoles in a nationally televised football game at 7:30.

Thursday’s park-and-ride service is a cooperative effort between the State Fair, N.C. State and McLaurin Parking.
