Tractor Pull - The competition at the Sam G. Rand Grandstand will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17; 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18; and 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19. Demolition Derby - Competitions will be held Friday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25, at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., with the championship match on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 2:30 p.m. There is a separate admission fee of $7. Storyteller - Southern history is full of myths, legends and tall tales. Sharon Hutto, a storyteller from Cottonwood, Ala, will share many of these entertaining tales with fairgoers while also demonstrating fire cooking. Before ovens, stoves and microwaves, individuals had to cook on fires built on the floor. The storyteller will demonstrate fire cooking in a 200-year-old pre-Civil War spider pot, cooking such Southern staples as biscuits, cornbread, beans and pies. Storytelling will be continuous throughout the day. |
Bluegrass Stage
The Kenny and Amanda Smith Band from Meadows of Dan, Va. will provide music daily on the Bluegrass stage. Performances daily at noon, 2:30 and 5 p.m. Broken N Lonesome will perform the first weekend, Oct. 18 & 19 at 1:15 and 3:45 p.m.

Waterfall Stage Sponsored by Kitchencraft

The Wells Family from Clayton will provide the music on the Waterfall stage. The Wells Family will perform daily at Noon, 3 and 6 p.m., except for Wednesday, when the waterfall stage is used for Military Day activities. |
The waterfall stage will also be the place to be each day to hear doo-wop, 50s and beach music by Frankie Faucet & the Drips. They will take the stage at 10:30 a.m., 1: 30 and 4:30 p.m., except on Military Day, Oct. 22. |
On Military Day, Wednesday, Oct. 22, Military bands from across the state will provide the entertainment on the Waterfall Stage. |
Folk Festival Tent
Many groups take traditional dances and add them to contemporary costumes and music to appeal to younger generations. Judging is based on audience appeal, authenticity, appearance, enthusiasm and competency. Competitions are held daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the tent behind the Kerr Scott Building. "Telling Our Stories" Storytellers: Free entertainment in the Folk Festival tent. |

Washboard Willy & Wishboard Wanda rove around Dorton Arena with their interactive rhythm playground. These musical pied pipers will be roaming around Dorton Arena and Kiddieland throughout the day.

Michelle's Magical Poodles - This show on the Kiddieland Stage is full of classic and traditional circus-style tricks. These beautiful poodles can be seen jumping through hoops, dancing, assisting in magic tricks, carrying flowers and walking on their hind legs. The poodles will perform daily at 2 and 4 p.m. on the Kiddieland Stage. (Preview day performance at 4 p.m.) |
Magic 4 U combines amazing magic tricks with information about agriculture. Magic 4 U will perform at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. daily in Kiddieland Fun Park. (Preview day performance at 5 p.m.)

Hubba Bubba the Clown will be performing on the Kiddieland Stage daily at noon and 6 p.m. Preview day performance at 6 p.m. Hubba Bubba will also roam the grounds to surprise children with balloon treats. |

Dale Jones the Juggler has been entertaining audiences on stage, television and fairs for years with the use of only one hand. Dale Jones will perform daily at 2, 4 & 6 p.m. at the Exposition Center, with an additional show at noon on Saturdays. Preview day performances at 4 & 6 p.m. |

This pot-bellied pig will paint for the crowds at 1, 3 & 5 p.m. daily. Preview day performance at 5 p.m. |
Fireworks will be shot off from a small island in the middle of the pond next to Gate 8 at 9:45 p.m. every night. Zambelli Fireworks International will provide the fireworks.

King Action Sports Stunt Show - It's been 10 years since Keith King and friends first wowed crowds at the State Fair with their BMX tricks. Since then, the top names in BMX have ridden across the blacktop in Raleigh to the pleasure of the crowds. This year's show adds the excitement of Motorcross to the mix. 



Folk Festival - Talented dancers and musicians from across North Carolina compete for the coveted Bascom Lamar Lunsford Trophy, which is awarded to the individual or group that best exemplifies North Carolina’s musical heritage. This 10-day competition features performances ranging from old-time bluegrass music to high-energy clogging and traditional square dancing.
Fairgoers will not have any problem finding 


Everyone's favorite robots will be back at the N.C. State Fair! Rock-It the Robot and Oscar the Robot will both roam the fairgrounds and interact with fairgoers throughout the day. 
Circle C Racing Pigs - Sponsored by Ray Price Harley Davidson - Circle C Farm will bring the Hogway Speedway back to the Fair with its racing potbelly pigs, ducks and pygmy goats. Fairgoers
