RALEIGH –Discounted admission and ride tickets for the N.C. State Fair go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 4, on the Fair’s Web site, www.ncstatefair.org. Advance tickets will be available through Oct. 11.
Fairgoers buying online tickets with a debit or credit card will save $2 per adult admission ticket and $8 per ride sheet. Advance admission tickets will cost $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-12. Adult admission tickets for groups of 40 or more will cost $4.75. A coupon that can be redeemed at the State Fair for a sheet of 18 ride tickets will cost $10 in advance.
Raleigh-based ETix will again provide online tickets that can be printed at home. Each ticket will have a bar code to be scanned at the gate. If fairgoers lose their tickets prior to attending the Fair, they can reprint their tickets at home using a confirmation number that will be e-mailed to them. Once a bar code has been scanned at the gate, all subsequent copies will be invalid. ETix will charge a convenience fee, ranging from 5 to 15 percent for online purchases, depending on the type of ticket.
Also on sale Sept. 4 at 8 a.m. are tickets for Dorton Arena and Grandstand shows. Tickets for entertainment acts MercyMe, Paula Deen, Sara Evans, Anthony Hamilton, Ruben Studdard, Steven Curtis Chapman, Josh Turner, Daughtry with Day of Fire, Kellie Pickler and Trace Adkins can only be purchased at the State Fair Web site. Fairgoers will be able to buy tickets at the North Dorton Box Office during the Fair for any concerts that do not sell out beforehand. Tractor pull and Demolition Derby tickets can also be purchased in advance on the Web.
Beginning Sept. 27, advance tickets also will be sold at several walk-up locations, including Triangle and Piedmont area malls and the State Farmers Market.
